Pause for the Cause
Hello! Turns out writing the story of following my dreams is tuckering me out so I bring you this pause in programming.
I will return next week with the continuation of my FASCINATING story about moving to NYC to be an actor. I KNOW! RIVETING!
In the mean time, here’s a Beatles song I heard for the first time last week.
I know. How can I keep finding Beatles songs I’ve never heard? HOW? I THOUGHT I KNEW THEM ALL.
But I didn’t. And it is rapidly becoming my very favorite Beatles tune of all time, eclipsing “Two of Us” which previously held the #1 spot in my heart.
Have you heard “I’ll Follow The Sun”?
If not, please click PLAY and enjoy.
Also! Tell me what your favorite Beatles song is and what you’re doing this weekend!
Right now, I’m obviously loving the song below, “Two of Us” and their totally old school “I Saw Her Standing There” because it makes me want to dance.
This weekend, the twins and I are having another sleepover, I have Italian class, musical improv and Saturday night I’m going to a whiskey bar in Brooklyn! Oooo excitement!
YOUR TURN. Happy weekend, you guys!

“I’ll Follow the Sun” is a fav of this family particularly your U. Vinnie. Most bestest, “In My Life” followed closely by “Yesterday”. You have the Beatles oldies in your bloodstream from before birth. Try to squeeze in a conversation with your parents BEFORE the whiskey bar, k? Thx.
I don’t believe I ever heard this song either. I think that most of our generation knows like 10 – 20 major songs by them and we lose out on gems like “I’ll follow the sun” because they aren’t used enough in popular media.
Probably “I Want To Hold Your Hand” has to be my favorite Beatles song. It always gets the head-shake dance when I’m in my car.
I’m not even sure that I have a favorite Beatles song. Much to the chagrin of my father, I’ve never been a huge Beatles fan, though I have been listening to them more lately. I think I like Hello Goodbye and Because the best so far.
And this weekend. I am getting my taxes done, celebrating a friend’s 30th (!) birthday, and attending performances of a show I just got done directing. I’m working with this teen company right now in Southwest Detroit, and I’m really not sure if there are even words enough for how I love them.
Favorite Beatles song: Eleanor Rigby
Weekend Plans: trying to ignore my vicious cold, birthday dessert, moving furniture
Can I say “Imagine” even though it’s just John Lennon? I love it. And I’m perfecting my bloody mary recipe this weekend.
I don’t think I can pick a favorite… I am a hardcore Beatles fan from my teenage years when I had the Fab Four’s faces plastered all over my walls (I missed the call that it wasn’t 1965).
Here are some of my less-well-known faves off the top of my head (and a shout out to “Two of Us” and “I’ll Follow The Sun”- they would’ve been on this list, too):
Hey Bulldog (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7P_zqw5Bro)

I forgot this one:
I’m Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmsTT9bvWIg&NR=1)
I love Paul’s screamy voice. Which brings me to one of my fave covers:
Long Tall Sally (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ibeqQA2_Yw)
OK, I’m done!
Wow, that’s a great song. Thank you for sharing it. I don’t recall ever hearing it, before. Pre-Rubber Soul non-single album cuts are a Beatles blind-spot, for me.
Yes, they have many songs. Over 180 originals, I think. Amazing how much they accomplished in seven years. My favorite Beatles songs are:
I Saw Her Standing There
A Hard Day’s Night
Tomorrow Never Knows
A Day in the Life
Back in the USSR
Happiness is a Warm Gun
Here Comes the Sun
Each has been my favorite at one time or another. These days it’s probably “Back in the USSR” because it’s such a great piano-pounder.
This weekend I played guitar, listened to Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Star Club, and plotted an art heist.
Absolute proof of the downfall of Western society.
Rachel, you’re my kinda woman.
Hands down, because someone dedicated it to me once and I’ve never, ever forgotten:
“In My Life.”
