How To

Posted on January 24th, 2011 in Daily Musings

I’ve beenĀ eating lots of cupcakes lately. For the record, this is how you properly chow down on one of life’s simplest and most delicious pleasures. You’re welcome.

What have you guys been eating lately? Lunches? Dinners? Desserts?

  1. Oh my gawd, cupcakes! However, as I am an icing freak, I do rip off the bottom, but first comsume it, then consume the top with the icing. I don’t like to share my icing with too much cake.

And, for lunch I had some brown jasmine rice with peas, edamame, yellow pepper, coriander and a homemade peanut sauce thrown on top. Heavenly. And, fiberiffic.

  2. Ummmm Pony, I am going to need you to FedEx me your lunch. KTHX.

  3. A cupcake does sound pretty good right now. I might have to go out and pick some up.

For lunch today I had some leftover pasta with asparagus and an almond pesto. It was just as good cold.

  4. A lady who lives in my building used to bring me a feast every night. She owns a restaurant. But now she’s retired so I have to cook for myself once again. I made linguini with clam sauce a couple nights ago. It’s simple. One can of minced clams and one can of chopped clams in a pot, add some garlic, sea salt, a bit of ground pepper, some basil and chives. Let it come to a light boil and then simmer. But the real trick is the linguini. Most people boil it. This is a mistake. It loses all its crunchiness.

  5. Too late. IN MA BELLY.

  6. Um, yes. One of the best blogs ever in the history of the world. She is a genius.

  7. Wow. Thank you for sharing that, Rachel.

That page is funny. But it would be significantly funnier if it had ended with “You’re welcome.”

  8. I like how “motherfucker” is a question…?

  9. When I say ‘a lady who lives in my building,’ I mean the building I work in as a concierge. Not the building I live in. That would be weird. Although, if my neighbors wanted to bring me a feast every night, I don’t suppose I would stop them.

I also forgot to mention olive oil and white wine in my clam sauce ingredients. Hope you didn’t make it with my incomplete recipe. Just don’t forget to not boil the pasta. Better yet, come over and I’ll make it for you. As long as you don’t have any moral qualms about eating clams. Carrots are more intelligent than they are.
