California, Day 1
I didn’t realize I was such a New Yorker until I glanced at my suitcase and the clothes I packed – black, gray, beige, black, gray, etc. rinse repeat. Um. Oops. Fear not, LA! I HAVE BROUGHT DRAB FASHION TO YOU. FROM NYC.
Started playing around with my phone and camera capabilities in the airport around 4:45 am before boarding. You’ll be pleased to know I was not subjected to a pat down or a scan so…what was all this craziness about!?
Who cares?
I’M TAKIN’ VINTAGE PICTURES ON MAH PHONE.
TA DA – Starbucks, retro style, 5:12 am, JFK Airport.
I slept for the first four hours of the flight which was magical in and of itself but was particularly lovely as the only empty seat on the plane was right next to me. The universe was making up for last year. Or…trying to.
And then finally, arrival!
Oh LA! I have missed you! You are not as warm as I want you to be but I love you regardless.
I’ve spent most of the day lazing around which feels glorious. I accompanied Tom on various errands, went out for cheap Thai food and some delicious delicious coffee and watched this baby monkey on a pig video one too many times.
On our To Do list: see the new Harry Potter, get Thanksgiving groceries, find some frozen yogurt. For now, we’re just hanging out. And it feels so, so nice and so, so needed. It’s good to be back here and wonderful to see my very best buddy again.

I NEED to be there next year!!! Tell Tom I say hey and to tape something for me on the video phone…..
