Memos Saved In My Blackberry That I Just Now Discovered.

Posted on September 28th, 2010 in Daily Musings

Sometimes when I want to remember something, I whip out my Blackberry and type in a memo for safekeeping. Then I promptly forget all about this feature until the next time I need it. USEFUL, AMIRITE? I never clear these things out nor do I ever go back and actually reference them and remember what I needed them for.

Here’s some stuff I recently found saved on my phone. Explain it to me because…what the? I think it’s worth posting because it is all over the freaking place and a good example of my life on a daily basis and why this blog rarely makes any sense or has a defining theme. HOLLA.

Alayna: I feel like if you can’t give a guy a half-eaten cannoli, you shouldn’t be dating him.

1 Pineapple slice, hummus and 14 grapes.

Name memory, yes anding, object work = cat in the vacuum cleaner.

Fostering patriotism, alopecia awareness – beauty pageant platforms, for REAL.

Parked – on Clinton between 1st Place and Carroll Street.

River: Let’s talk about something else. Something nice. Like dreams. And honeysuckle.

Never Saw Blue Like That – Tom Kimmel

Bumptious: offensively self-assertive
Peregrinate: traveling
Buccal: pertaining to the cheeks, dentistry

It’s like those Saturdays when dad used to wake us up blasting Bob Dylan music. Sort of.

511 West 54th Street.

It’s an ice cream juxtaposed with Karen Carpenter thing.

$50 from that eBay girl.

Meditation check – June 8th, 6 pm.

Pluvial: pertaining to rain
Pecuniary: pertaining to money
Dolorous: full of, expressing or causing sorrow

Owen and the soccer balls, Lady Gaga – kid appropriate?

Marriage proposals via text don’t count.

And that happened! YOU ARE SO WELCOME FOR THAT!!!!!! I think alopecia awareness is my favorite part of this list. That or Alayna’s quote about half-eaten cannolis because, what?

That’s all I got today on this very rainy Tuesday.

That. Is. All.

  1. I agree with Alayna. If you aren’t comfortable enough with a guy to give him a half-eaten cannoli, then you aren’t comfortable enough with him.

511 West 54th Street is two blocks from where I work.

Lady Gaga music is mostly kid-appropriate. Lady Gaga videos and concerts are mostly not.

1 pineapple slice, hummus and 14 grapes would feed the average turtle for a week.

These make me think that you were trying to make connections between words you might know in English and their Italian counterparts. Maybe?

Keep in mind…I speak Danish and Spanish. Not Italian. I could be COMPLETELY off.

also. I have no idea what this is:
“Name memory, yes anding, object work = cat in the vacuum cleaner.”

but anything that equals a cat in the vacuum cleaner is hilarious.

  3. I like the “Marriage proposals via text don’t count.”
but love “It’s an ice cream juxtaposed with Karen Carpenter thing.” especially since I cannot fathom the meaning.

“We’ve only just begun…….to eat mint chocolate chip”

  4. You guys are HILARIOUS.

Jen! I actually think that random vocab was from a really intense book I was reading where I had to look up every other word. I do not remember what this book was. I don’t think I actually finished it. I AM SO SMART.

“yes anding” and “object work” are improv comedy terms but I have no idea what “name memory” is. Or how those terms resulted in a cat in a vacuum cleaner.

Tim! This is true. The twins like to watch her stuff on YouTube and I’m like UM NO SHUT IT OFF and they’re like WE LOVE IT BUT IT ALSO TERRIFIES US. Yeah. Shut. It. Off.

Kyle! You are the funniest person alive. Truly. I actually know what that one means! It’s part of a story I’m writing about my dad and my mom and their engagement. NOW DON’T YOU WANT TO HEAR IT?

  5. My guess on the Karen Carpenter ice cream thing is that it was either ice cream that is really fattening or ice cream that is really not fattening. But, I dunno, maybe you were thinking of her music, instead.

The next time Owen and River are watching Lada Gaga videos, maybe you could distract them with this.

When you said, “Tim! This is true,” for a brief moment there I was really hoping I was right about the turtle food.
