Girl Power

A year ago this weekend, I was in DC with Alayna, getting my cherry blossoms on. OH YEAH.

Alayna is meeting me after work for pedicures and a late lunch. This is a huge relief to me as I am going through a bit of a rough patch today. I am so grateful she will be there so I can cry on her shoulder until her shirt is soaking wet and snot is covering her neck and when she gets weird looks from people, she’ll be all OH THAT’S JUST MY OVER-EMOTIONAL TODDLER, LAURA. SHE IS 27.

I wish we were back under the cherry blossoms. So things could be like they were before. But of course, they aren’t. At all. Lucky for me, Alayna is almost exactly the same. I, for one, am grateful.

  1. I love you! Pedicures, lunch, and shopping composed the perfect afternoon. And oh how I wish we were back in DC right now!!!

  2. Aw, that’s sweet. You’re both very fortunate to have each other. Especially Laura.
