Weekend
My hair is a little bit shorter, a lot blonder and I have a good tan going on.

I’m home with my folks this weekend.
I made coconut chocolate chip cookies, ate about three pints of blueberries and jumped in the ocean.
Randomly, over dinner, my dad solemnly said, “You know…when the game of chess is over, whether you’re a pawn, a rook, a king or a queen, you all go back in the same box.”
And then he just stared at my mother and me, giving us time to take in his very deep wisdom.
About…chess? Life and death? WHO EVEN KNOWS.
“Where…did that come from?” I asked him.
“I HAVE NO IDEA. I JUST REMEMBERED SOME ITALIAN LADY TOLD ME THAT IN BROOKLYN ONCE. I THAWT IT WAS WORTH SHARIN’.”
Uh. Thanks, dad. I’m not entirely sure what to do with that phrase but I feel like the blogosphere might enjoy it anyhow. You’re welcome.

Too cute!
But, what happens if you get a natural burial wrapped in linen? Do you automatically lose the game by default?
i know you just wanted to match a bit more the girl frmo the theme Laura
Is it bad that I can’t stop laughing at Pi a la mode?
profound….your dad is great : )
How do you make coconut choc chip cookies, because that sounds really good!
Jo–
I used this recipe. It is way more coconut-y with the extract however I rarely have any on hand so I substitute vanilla. I’ve also tried this exact recipe and a modified version where I used an egg replacer to make them vegan. Both came out excellent!
thanks, we all love coconut and choc around here!
