Confessions of a Four Year Old
Posted on May 28th, 2009 in Nanny Diaries
Last Saturday while babysitting the twins, in a moment of earnest, loveable preschoolerhood, River threw his arms around me and quietly sighed into my neck, “Laura, I can’t stop loving you.”
I told him that I couldn’t stop loving him either, that I would love him forever and ever, when he is in kindergarten and when he is in old enough to walk to school on his own and when he goes to college and goes on an African safari and when he gets married.
“But Laura,” he reasoned, pressing his little forehead to mine, “I want to marry you.”
And I’m thinking that even with the twenty-one year age difference, this very well might be my most viable option.

hihihihi what a crush xD
Don’t you just want to eat’em up?!
Get ‘em while they’re young, I say.
Multiple choice replies:
1. Oh, dear. Even four-year-olds are falling for Laura. How many shattered hearts will be left in her wake, never to recover? How many toddlers will be forever corrupted by the impossible ideal that Laura represents? Doomed to have their every spousal prospect pale in comparison to the fabled (and fabulous) babysitter of their fragile formative years? This woman is dangerous. She must be stopped.
2. Gosh, that’s so cute!
3. Hey, it worked for Bogey and Bacall.
4. Turtles.
How cute! Of course, has he done the math on how old you’ll be by the time he’s ready to get married? I think it’s time to practice addition with those boys
I vote for turtles. They are so darn cute.
Crunchy Chicken knows what’s up.
